Visit the hinterland of Nice
Between sea and mountains, the hinterland of Nice deserves a getaway for the day or for a few days. You can explore the villages perched on the hills, walk the trails of the Mercantour National Park. Let's discover the places not to be missed!
Vence, Grasse and Saint-Paul-de-Vence
Vence, a villa which has inspired many painters such as Henri Matisse who designed the famous Chapelle du Rosaire, also called "Chapelle Matisse". In the Notre-Dame de la Nativité cathedral, you can contemplate a mosaic by Marc Chagall representing Moses saved from the waters.
Grasse, the capital of perfume, has seen the birth of mythical fragrances. You will find there the musée international de la parfumerie. Just like Saint-Paul-de-Vence these towns are named towns of art and history, you will discover beautiful pastel facades, and its fountain and arcades. Many artists, painters, poets and writers have drawn their inspiration from this picturesque city: Picasso, Braque, Modigliani, Matisse, Miro, Chagall, but also Prévert and Giono.
Saint-Paul-de-Vence also owes its notoriety to the actors who have stayed there. This is the case, for example, of Simone Signoret and Yves Montand who met in 1949 at the Colombe d'Or and who married in the village a year and a half later.
Tourettes-sur-Loup
A medieval city that deserves its place among the most beautiful places to visit.
Gorges de Daluis
For people looking for thrills and a change of scenery, the Gorges de Daluis, nicknamed the Colorado of Nice, is a wonderful place for water sports enthusiasts.
