Villa Kérylos in Beaulieu sur Mer
Villa Kerylos, ideally located on the shores of the Mediterranean along the Bay of Ants with a view of the Gulf of Saint-Hospice, in Beaulieu sur Mer, is a reproduction of a Greek villa on the island of Delos dating from the 2nd century. by JC.
It is not only the construction but also the furnishing, the decoration which restores all the nobility of the Greek villas. The decoration and furniture were designed especially for the villa between 1902 and 1908. The materials are noble, the decoration is sumptuous with several frescoes inspired by Greek mythology. The Galerie des Antiques has an important collection of Greco-Roman statues. The gardens are lovely. At the water's edge and facing the sea, they offer the scent of Mediterranean essences. Pines, pomegranate olive trees and many more that could be felt in ancient times by the Aegean Sea. An olfactory journey through time. Kerylos means "sea swallow", heralding a happy omen.
