Saint-Malo, the Corsair City of Brittany
Saint-Malo is located in Ile-et-Vilaine, it is one of the most emblematic destinations in Brittany with its majestic ramparts, fascinating history and beautiful beaches. This corsair city attracts many visitors every year.
Rich and enriching
Saint-Malo is above all a city steeped in history, known for its privateers. Corsairs: Crew member of an armed civilian ship, authorized to attack any ship in time of war.
Previously, Saint-Malo was a den of privateers, including among the most famous: Robert Surcouf, René Duguay-Trouin. The fortifications of the city, designed by Vauban, testify to a beautiful glorious era.

"La route du Rhum": Famous transatlantic race. "Extonnants Voyageurs": International Book and Film Festival that explores the themes of travel and adventure. "The festival of the ramparts": This medieval event transforms the city into a setting from the era of knights, parades, jousts and historical reconstructions.
