Along the Côte Vermeille, one of the most beautiful coasts in the south of France, in the Pyrenees Orientales, lies Port-Vendres. Port Vendres is also called the City of Venus because of its etymology. It is a charming village with colorful houses. The beaches and coves promise beautiful days of swimming and sunbathing at the water's edge. The Mauresque creek is a must during a stay in Port Vendres. And obviously a stroll along the quays of the port is essential. Port-Vendres is a natural Catalan port with deep waters, a marina and a fishing port. You can also go to the auction to buy fresh fish or along the quays on the stalls when you return from fishing. You can also walk along the scrubland paths on the hills above the sea and go to the Cap Béar lighthouse. One of the most extraordinary restaurants is Le Poisson Rouge. To get here, you have to slip through two narrow tunnels with paved floors,
carved into the hillside. The goldfish is actually blue and white.
The waves lick the terrace, protected by a flight of reeds.
