Let's discover the most beautiful peaks of the Pyrénées

The Pyrénées, this mountain range which stretches on the border between France and Spain, is full of magnificent peaks with breathtaking panoramas. Each peak of the Pyrénées has its charm and identity attracting nature lovers but especially hikers. Let's discover some peaks of the Pyrénées.

1. Pic du Midi de Bigorre (2,877 m)

It is one of the most emblematic peaks of the French Pyrénées. Accessible by cable car, once at the top it offers a spectacular panorama of the Pyrénées chain, as well as the surrounding plains and valleys.

The Pic du Midi is home to an astronomical observatory, making it a unique place for astronomy enthusiasts.

2. Vignemale (3,298 m)

Vignemale is a summit located on the French-Spanish border, in the Pyrénées National Park. Made up of several peaks, including the great Vignemale which is the highest peak in the Pyrénées.

3. Le Pic du Canigou (2,784 m)

Located in the Eastern Pyrénées, it is one of the emblematic symbols of the region. The Pic du Canigou is visible from a large number of places in the region. Its ascent is accessible to those who are in good physical condition and offers an exceptional view of the Mediterranean Sea, the surrounding plains and mountains.

4. Pic d'Ossau (2,884 m)

Recognizable by its shape, it is nicknamed "The Matterhorn of the Pyrenees" and is one of the most emblematic peaks of Béarn. Culminating at 2,884m, this ancient volcano is a must for hiking and climbing enthusiasts. For seasoned athletes and hikers, the Tour de l’Ossau is one of the most famous hikes in the Ossau Valley. Over 15 km and 1,200 m of altitude difference, you will rub shoulders with the Ossau in all its faces, crossing beautiful wild valleys where the most emblematic fauna of the Pyrénées take refuge.

5. The Néouvielle massif

One of the most beautiful massifs of the Pyrénées, this one is varied with beautiful landscapes. It is the ideal place for hiking and allows you to discover the different landscapes of the massif. Varied landscapes with mountains, valleys, lakes and forests. The Néouvielle massif is also ideal for cross-country skiing and alpine skiing for those who wish to discover it in winter.

6. The Tabe Massif

The Tabe massif is a place of great natural beauty, made up of varied landscapes ranging from rocky mountains to beautiful pine forests. It is the perfect place to practice many outdoor activities: such as mountain biking, climbing or hiking.

7. The Arbizon massif

An ideal place for hiking, with numerous walking and hiking trails, which allow you to discover the beauty of the mountainous landscapes. Culminating at 2,831 meters and 20 kilometres long, this massif offers a sumptuous landscape which will enhance your family outdoor activities.

8.The Batchimale massif

The Batchimale massif peaks at an altitude of 3,176 meters and is on the border of Spain and France. It is a massif extending over more than 80 kilometres, it offers wild and preserved nature rich in fauna and flora with numerous wild animals (marmots, chamois, chamois, etc.)
