Museum of Modern Art in Céret
One of the largest museums in Occitanie, it is being expanded and equipped with a new museography of the permanent collection. Céret is known worldwide for the passage of internationally renowned artists, where art has its place, hence its nickname "The Mecca of Cubism". The Museum of Modern Art was founded in 1950 by Pierre Brune and Franck Burty Haviland, both French painters. It presents works by painters who enjoy worldwide notoriety who have stayed in Céret, such as Picasso, Soutine, Chagall and many big names.
