Hot air balloon flights in Provence
Treat yourself to Provence seen from the sky in a hot air balloon. More than a trip, feel the soul of an adventurer during the time of Jules Vernes.
The Montgolfièr brothers
Joseph-Michel and Jacques Etienne Montgolfier are the first inventors in France in 1782 of the first aerostat (an apparatus which is maintained in the atmosphere due to gas being lighter than air).
In 1783, a flight was organized in Versailles for King Louis XIV. On board the airship, a rooster, a sheep and a duck climbed to 480m of altitude.
The first human flight took place a few months later.
Five weeks in a balloon
The famous book by Jules Verne! This was his first novel and dates from 1863. It recounts the adventures of an inventor, Doctor Samuel Ferguson, who goes with two friends to explore parts of Africa, from Zanzibar to the Nile in a balloon.

The hot air balloon base is situated near the pretty village of Forcalquier, in the Alpes-de-Hautes-Provence department.
We fly over Forcalquier and the surrounding hilltop villages. And the magnificent lavender fields! They are in bloom from mid-June to mid-July.
Allow 3 hours which includes the preparations, take-off, flight, landing and toast of the balloonists.
Hot air balloon flights take place in the morning.
Hot air balloon flights take place from April to October.
