Hossegor - Atlantic Coast seaside and surfing town
Hossegor is a seaside resort on the Atlantic coast, located in the middle of Landes between Biarritz and Arcachon. A stretch of fine golden sand stretches from here 150 km north to Arcachon. The main street of Hossegor looks more like California than France with a surf shop on every street corner and surfers in motorhomes or trucks full of surfboards.
You will discover fine sandy beaches as far as the eye can see, surf schools, the marine lake and its long promenade, the 18-hole golf course, walks in the forest, Casino in the Basque-Landes style, and elegant villas from the 1920s - 1930 nestled under the pines, shops, cafes, bars and restaurants, as well as many summer events and surfing competitions. All these elements make Hossegor a very popular holiday destination.
The beaches north of the Landes are lined with beautiful forests, great for walking and picnicking. You can rent bikes and explore over 40 km of cycle paths along forest paths and trails.
