Discovering the Ile de Ré

Île de Ré, located off the coast of Charente-Maritime, is one of the most popular destinations on the French Atlantic coast. This island is 30 kilometres long, this island is famous for its beautiful landscapes with its sandy beaches, charming villages and unspoilt nature, this island offers an idyllic setting for a relaxing and enriching holiday.

Heritage and history of the Ile de Ré

The Ile de Ré has a strong historical heritage, with its ramparts and fortifications testify to a time when the island played a strategic role in the Defence of the coast. The ramparts of Saint-Martin-de-Ré, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, are a testimony of this time.
