Collioure exposé en large à Londres, une oeuvre de Andreas Rüthi
Collioure exhibited broadly in London. A work by Andreas Rüthi printed in gigantic format (6m x 4m) illuminates one of the walls of the Kingsgate workshops in London until February 26, 2023. It is a sunset over Collioure in a thousand colors.
The original painting is of a smaller format: 42 x 30 cm.
Collioure Sunset plays with spatial and temporal simultaneity, where dawn and dusk light coexist, and yellow mimosa, white almond, lemon and orange trees are in permanent bloom. Rather than reconstructing the experience from a unified perspective, the work is a collage of fragments exploring new possibilities in the tradition of landscape painting.
Andreas Rüthi is a Swiss painter who has been living in Collioure for three years, where he has produced around fifty works of the emblematic city of the Pyrénées-Orientales.
He also published a book "The most beautiful blue in the world" bringing together his paintings and watercolors from Collioure.
