Bormes-les-Mimosas, Provencal village
Bormes-les-Mimosas is a commune in the Var department, in Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur, which is very pleasant.

Fort de Brégançon, official residence of the Presidents of the Republic
It stands on a rocky peak about thirty meters above sea level, in the town of Bormes. Its strategic location allows it to overlook Hyères and Toulon while being sheltered from the east wind.
In 1964, the President of the Republic lodged at the fort during the commemorations of the landing in Provence. The fort and the island were classified as historic monuments on September 25, 1968 and took on the status of presidential residence.
François Hollande has no particular attachment to Fort Brégançon, which is why he opens the site to the public by entrusting its management to the Center des Monuments Nationaux.
