100 Years of the Bol d'Or Motorcycle Race
The Bol d'Or will celebrate its 100th anniversary this year. A legendary 24-hour international motorcycle race that takes place at the Paul Ricard circuit in Le Castellet in the PACA region, from September 16 to 18.
Started in 1922, the Bol d'Or has taken place on many circuits, such as: Saint Germain, Fontainebleau, Monthléry and Le Mans before being installed in the south of France and more precisely in the PACA region, at Le Castellet for a long period.
In recent years Castellet has marked the history of the Bol d'Or: from 1978 to 1999, the Paul Ricard circuit ensured legendary races where the brands each in turn set their own pace. Honda in the 80s (eight successes in eleven editions), Kawasaki in the 90s (four victories in the decade) and Suzuki, finally, which notably signed the last two victories in the Var.
