The property sits just outside (3 minutes drive or 12 minutes walk) the pretty, charming village of Vouvant with its medieval history. An easy stroll for morning bread and croissants or lunch or dinner in the restaurants and shopping in the grocery store.

Fully-equipped kitchen and living area with UK TV channels and Wi-Fi internet.

Double bedroom plus twin room and large family bathroom.

Pool 10m x 5m (occasionally shared with charming, English property owners who live next door in separate and private accommodation). Sun deck with loungers and parasols.

15 minutes drive to all shops and supermarkets in La Chataigneraie and Fontenay-le-Comte.

Bookings run from 4:00pm on your day of arrival to 10:00am on your day of departure.

Bookings include electricity, water, linen, towels and pool towels (and beach towels).

Tourist Tax
Where applicable, Pure France is required to collect and remit local government tourism taxes on behalf of our property owners. These taxes are calculated and collected from guests at the time of booking. Pure France then remits collected taxes to the applicable tax authority on the property owners' behalf.

The property is set in open countryside, 3 minutes drive or 12 minutes walk from the medieval village of Vouvant in the beautiful Vendée department, between La Rochelle, 65 minutes and Saint-Malo and ferry, 3 hours.

Local amenities in Vouvant include restaurants newsagent, café bar, bakery, grocery store, pharmacy. Daily tours around the ancient walls.

The combination of lovely accommodation, beautiful surroundings and the swimming pool made Piglet Barn a wonderful place to stay. In addition to being an interesting and picturesque village, Vouvant is a great location for the start of circular bike rides and walks. We especially enjoyed the riiverside walk, the Sentier des Rives. The Saturday market in Fontenay provides an enjoyable shopping experience.

Piglet is the prfect spot to visit all the graet spots in the Vendée, our favourite being La Rochelle and the Belugas beach. There are wonderful touches of luxury at the house; beautiful linens, towels and bathrobes. Vouvant is a charming and beautiful village. definitely a fabulous find !

A great place to stay, ideally located for Vouvant, which is a lovely town and a genuine short walk for something good to eat and drink. Fontenay-le-Comte is an interesting large market town. Fervent is worth exploring with pretty forests, lakes and rivers. The owners pool is a good size and adjoins their property. The hosts were very welcoming.

The acccommodation is beautifully presented with lots of lovely little touches. There's everything you need but if not the hosts are just next door and couldn't be more helpful. Vouvant is a very short walk away and has a handful of bars, restaurants and shops so you can just leave the car and relax if you really need to with off. We'd highly recommend a stay a The Piglet Barn and will most certainly be back.

The hosts have thought of every comfort. A fantastic base from which to explore this part of France. It was difficult to draw yourself away from the beautiful garden and pool. We stayed with them many times when they managed to create yet another little haven at their new base in France!
