It's an easy walk (10 - 15 minutes) into the village of Caromb with bakery, two grocery stores, restaurants (inc brasserie and pizzeria), café bars, bank with cash machine, pharmacy, newsagent and very pretty town square. Several wine outlets and vendors of local produce including olive oil.
Aubignan, 5 km has a similar range of excellent amenities.
Many excellent restaurants in nearby villages of Le Barroux (5 minutes) and Malaucène (10 minutes).
Carpentras, 10 minutes is a bigger town with many shops and superb, traditional street market. Huge choice of restaurants and café bars, etc.

Location
The property is located on a single track lane, approx 1.5 km from the centre of the lovely village of Caromb, surrounded by beautiful countryside and vineyards 20 minutes from Avignon and 15 minutes from Orange.
Caromb, (10 - 15 minutes walk, 1 minute drive) has a bakery, two grocery stores, restaurants (inc brasserie and pizzeria), café bars, bank with cash machine, pharmacy, newsagent and very pretty town square. Several wine outlets and vendors of local produce including olive oil.
Aubignan, 4 km has a similar range of excellent amenities.
Many excellent restaurants in nearby villages of Le Barroux (5 minutes) and Malaucène (10 minutes).

Cultural sites and events continue throughout the summer in Orange and Avignon, both places not to be missed. Orange with its famous amphitheatre and nearby vineyards of the Côtes-du-Rhône. Avignon with the half bridge and Pope's Palace. Great shopping and old winding streets.
The lovely Camargue National Park lies close by. You really will see black bulls, pink flamingos and white horses. Many horse and pony-trekking ranches and great choice of Mediterranean beaches.
The Camargue and the fabulous beaches on the South coast are all within easy driving distance.

We stayed in Maison Bouquier after falling in love with the area on a previous trip and loving then the walking in the Dentelles the tranquility, the pretty villages and excellent vineyards. If you feel active then Les Baux (and the outstanding Carrieres de Luminieres), Avignon, Orange And Châteauneuf-du-Pape are all good outings. Caromb is a great base to stay, with an extremely good supermarket, good range of local shops plus cafés and an outstanding restaurant in the town square. The house is situated at the edge of the village so is very peaceful. The house is really attractive with lovely gardens. It is extremely stylish yet very relaxing and was really well equipped. We appreciated the very comfortable beds and sofas, the powerful showers, the top of the range cooker, quality appliances and fans. It was lovely to always eat in the outdoors dining area, shaded even at the sunniest time of day, with a wonderful view. The pool, patio and second little seating area were all much enjoyed. We had a fabulous week.
