Introduction

This lovely, stone-built, modern house offers spacious and welcoming accommodation in a super location. Just outside the stunning, perched village of Gordes, its a pretty 20 minute, pathway walk into the village with a huge choice of traditional restaurant and café bars.

Two bedrooms to sleep 4, fully equipped kitchen, UK satellite TV, Wi-Fi internet and very private dining terrace and rough grassed garden.

Large 9m x 4.5m pool with sun terrace.

Wi-Fi internet coverage also around the pool!

Electric vehicle charging point (shared with owners). Electricity charged at cost + €5 connection charge.

The village offers a great range of restaurants and artisan shops with many cultural events and local markets. Superb views from the village and lovely, typical Provençal countryside and villages all around to explore.

Ridley Scott's, 'A Good Year' feature film with Russell Crowe was filmed in and around Gordes.

Owners live in detached property next door and can offer baby-sitting facilities.

Location

The property is located on the edge of the village of Gordes with all amenities. 20 minutes walk to the village from the property.

Huge choice of traditional restaurants and café bars.

Standing on the edge of the plateau of Vaucluse, Gordes is one of the most beautiful villages of Luberon where many movie stars and artists have made their home. It is one of the most famous 'perched villages' or villages perchés in France, the castle dating back to the 1100s.

Its beautiful architecture and hilltop setting make it one of the most visited places in Provence creating tourist crowds in high season.

The houses of white and gray stone rise up in a spiral around the rock where the village is set. At the very top is the church and the castle which face out onto the hills of the Luberon.

Due to its privileged position, its exceptional charm and its typical architecture, Gordes has been listed as 'one of the most beautiful villages of France'.

While strolling around the tiny streets which climb up between the tall houses, you will discover here and there beautiful old doorways, arcades and walls of flat stone perfectly restored and on the other side, there is the panorama of the valley and mountains of Luberon.

Once at the top of Gordes, you can see the fortified castle enclosing the city hall and the Pol Mara museum (Flemish contemporary painter).

The lavender fields just outside the village are among the most photographed sites in France.
