World renowned wine tasting is available locally in the Duras, Sauterne, Marmande, Bergerac and Monbazillac areas as well as in Graves, Médoc and the picturesque medieval town of Saint-Émilion.
There are regular markets in the local picturesque towns of Duras (Monday), Sainte-Foy-la-Grande (Saturday) and Eymet (Thursday), along with many others in the area. On the first Sunday of each month, the old town of Bergerac transformed into a large antique market.
Bordeaux, with its opera house, art galleries, museums, shops and the lovely broad sandy beaches of the Atlantic coast are little more than an hour away. Moreover, Biarritz, located further South on the Atlantic coast, is still within striking distance of a day-trip.

Lodges - August 2024
We have had a wonderful relaxed and fun week here at Le Manoir de Duras. It has felt like a home from home. All the practical equipment to making things smooth and lots of games and books to enjoy as the days go by. Thank you to the owners for a lovely family week. A real holiday.

We have had a lovely relaxing weeknight at the castle. Wine tasting at the Chateau Grand Pierre. Night market in the village. Butchers and boulangerie I the village both excellent. Pleasant setting for pizza intent little square. House lovely. Setting on outskirts of the village was perfect for us. Thank you for sharing the home grown tomatoes from the garden.

We have had at the perfect family holiday at Le Manoir de Duras. The tomatoes from the garden were a delicious bonus! We all loved the pool and laying on the sun beds late a night watching the stars. Has some great meals in town and daily boulangerie too. A trip to the chocolate factory is a must. perfect on a rainy day for the kids! The house is absolutely stunning. were all agree one of the best places we've ever stayed. Thank you.
