The property is situated in open countryside in the small commune of Varès, between Marmande and Agen.
All amenities including café bar, bakery, restaurant, supermarket in nearby Tonneins, 6 km.
Further amenities with bigger choice of shops and restaurants in Marmande, 20 minutes.
Agen, 45 minutes with all major hypermarkets etc.
Local area is renowned for the production of artisanal food products - cheese, foie gras, tomatoes, asparagus, nuts, prunes and of course wine; and its night markets where the produce can be enjoyed at the weekly night markets in Laparade (5 minutes) and Fongrave (20 minutes).
There are local markets nearby everyday - Tonneins, Marmande, Castelmoron-sur-Lot and Miramont-de-Guyenne.

Les Chapoux is truly a terrific holiday destination, the property is located in a lovely area and it is easy to access local towns and villages with supermarkets in easy reach. As to the property it is charming, there is plenty of room with comfortable beds and all the amenities you could need. The pool is great and the 3 generations of our family spent many an hour in and around it. The owners are very helpful and made us feel most welcome. Definitely one to visit.

Perfect location and layout of the house, with a great outside bathing area to watch the sunsets with a glass of wine. Laprade not to be missed.
If you are prepared to drive a little further Issigeac (Noth East of Eymet) worth a visit with a good selection of bars, shops and restaurants.

3 generations of Phillipsons
We have all had a superb week. What a beautiful house and surroundings. Huge fun in the pool, long evenings on the stunning terrace watching the sun go down. Complete relaxation for us all.
Younger folk tried the Pirate experience and really enjoyed it. We all went to Laparade - a huge open food festival, a sea of tables on the remparts (take your own cloth and plastic beakers!) and great music.
A truly magical week we will all treasure. X
The Frosts
What a stunning location. We have had a wonderful week and extremely sad to be leaving this idyllic spot. The house is incredibly well appointed and kitted out with everything we could possibly have needed. We spent the week relaxing and fitting in the odd wine tasting, horse ridding lessons for our two girls and visiting the brilliant goat farm! Thank you so much for the incredible stay!
The Marini party
Wonderful time in a wonderful house. So peaceful here. The house had everything we could possibly want and more besides (including a visiting woodpecker). Laparade night market was a highlight. The restaurant there is pretty fabulous too. We spent loong days by the pool and long evenings on the terrace.
Frédérique and Hélène at the shop provided all we needed including homemade lasagne.
And Olivia couldn't have been more helpful. Thank you, Mark and Janet.

Thank you for letting us stay in your wonderful house - we have all enjoyed the beautiful home and gardens and all the attention to detail. We very much enjoyed the night market in Laparade although not really a market but more a fiesta! Very much recommend.

Two weeks of idyllic bliss in the rolling French countryside with superb weather to atch. As a family young and old, we enjoyed the stunning house, garden, pool and views.
To agree with the previous guests, Laparade is the place to be on a Tuesday evening.
Days spent at Biscarosse beach and lakeside both worth the journey.
Would also highly recommend in house beauty treatments. We had massages and facials. Fantastic. Just ask Olivia.
The Steel party
Fabulous house, beautifully decorated with everything we could possibly need for a lovely holiday. The pool and pool toys were a great hit with our 4 year old. We have holidayed numerous times in France and this was by far the best, from the welcoming email to the comfy beds and linen. Mark and Janet have made this a beautiful holiday home. We had a hot week and made the most of being at home! Thank you for a lovely stay!
P.S. The Tuesday night market in Laparade was fun and definitely worth a visit! Our daughter loved her bedroom + the toys kept her occupied in the morning!
