Tourist Tax
Where applicable, Pure France is required to collect and remit local government tourism taxes on behalf of our property owners. These taxes are calculated and collected from guests at the time of booking. Pure France then remits collected taxes to the applicable tax authority on the property owners' behalf.

Location

The property is situated in open countryside, 10 minutes from Castillonnès.

All amenities and farmers market in the bastide town of Castillonnès.

It provides all the necessities of life with two small, but well stocked, supermarkets, bakers, butchers, cafés and other small shops as well as a cinema, (which quite often shows the latest films in English) and several excellent restaurants, including Les Remparts, serving exceptional food.

Great swimming in the nearby lake in Lougratte. This lake has a small beach, pedalos, canoes etc and is very popular, with plenty of other children to keep everyone occupied. You can picnic on the grass or under the trees.

There is a donkey farm in the village where children can have rides or enjoy a short run around in a small cart pulled by a donkey. There is also a riding school nearby. Tennis courts are available in the nearby towns of Castillonnes and Lauzun.

Nearby golf courses and wine-tasting.

Other local towns include the beautiful medieval town of Issigeac, the Bastide towns of Eymet, Monflanquin, Miramont-en-Guyenne, Villeréal and the pretty town of Lauzun all with good restaurants and weekly farmers markets.

Bergerac is some 30 km North and Villeneuve-sur-Lot 30 km to the South.

Both these larger towns have good shopping facilities, superb restaurants and weekly street markets.

There are many places of historical interest well worth a visit. The local Bastide towns of Eymet, Monflanquin, Villeréal and the beautiful villages of Monpazier, Issigeac (with its medieval houses and bishop's palace).

Can't believe the stay is almost at an end. We have had a lovely time and the weather promised poorly but delivered very well, which enabled daily swimming in the brilliant pool. We all enjoyed the games of TT (table tennis) and boules competitions.

So many interesting things to do in the surrounding area; we only managed Bergerac twice. Once for a wine tasting in the wonderful Maison du Vin and once for a very enjoyable boat trip. Golfing Black Kheri and the walk around the lake Les Graoussettes.

The cave at Les Eyzies was very informative and curious to note the difference in scenery; handles not to be missed! Apart from the BBQ provided, we happened on Thursday Market at Monpazier; simply great and such a pretty place. We also enjoyed the marché gourmand at Villeréal (every Monday from 6.30pm. Bring tablecloth, cutlery and drinking vessels). Their counterparts in Issigeac on Thursdays during summer.

Restaurant L’Atelier in Issigeac was a wonderful treat on our penultimate day and we would suggest booking a place at their mini, shared table and great food and plenty of wine.

We have returned again as promised and, despite the worst weather we have experienced in France in over 20 years, we had a lovely time. Even indoors there were still plenty of things to do in the sheltered area to sit and play card games, or challenge each other to a game of table tennis in the barn.
A very comfortable and well-equipped house. Thank you for your kind hospitality and we hope to return again soon!
