Location
The property is located in a tiny hamlet, 10 minutes from the picturesque town of Lectoure.
(Local bakery, 5 minutes from the house).
Lectoure lies almost on the border of the Gers and the Lot and Garonne, between Toulouse (90 minutes) and Bordeaux (2 hours).
The town is 30 km North of Auch and has all amenities including restaurants and café bars and excellent small individual shops and a vibrant weekly market held on Friday morning.
A nearby lake with sandy beaches and water slides is at Saint-Clar and for those wanting a more adventurous water park with lots of white knuckle rides there is the Walibi Aquitaine near Agen.
A number of vineyards in the area offer tours and tastings – a great way to get to know the local wines and Armagnacs.
Many local and traditional markets, the best way to buy really fresh local produce and soak up the atmosphere in the local cafés. (You will find a comprehensive list of all the markets and festivals at the house). The world-famous jazz festival of Marciac is held every August.
Beautiful and relatively unknown small towns and villages to visit:
Just half-an-hour's drive (32 km) from the house is Condom, a charming small town of elegant 18th century architecture. A popular way to see the town is by hiring a little motor boat on the River Baise, or taking a lunchtime cruise down the river. The town has excellent shops and all amenities including very good, traditional restaurants.
Auch, the capital of the Gers (30 km) is the centre for Armagnac and Foie Gras and the busy weekly markets are the best way to sample the local fare! The Cathédrale de Sainte-Mere with its remarkable 15th century stain glass is worth a visit, look out for the imposing statue of one of the Gascony's best loved heroes, D'Artagnan.
Fleurance (24 km) with its famous canopied market square is the perfect place for a quiet drink and browse round the market as is Saint-Clar (25 km) with its weekly garlic market and narrow streets.
Only 16 km away is the La Romieu, designated a world heritage site with the breath-taking 14th century abbey-church of Saint-Pierre.
Larrasingle (38 km) is the smallest bastide in France and well worth visiting perhaps combining with Seviac, a former Gallo-Roman villa with its beautifully preserved mosaics and series of baths. Just 5 minutes up the road is Montreal the oldest bastide in Gascony.
The area also offers great walking and cycling. There are numerous detailed maps in the house and the Tourist Office in Lectoure has additional guides and can also advise on bike hire and for a more leisurely way to see the area riding stables. There are golf courses at Eauze and Fleurance and horse racing and trotting at Auch and Fleurance.
This is a beautiful area; surrounded by hills, amid cornfields and vines, at an average height of 82 metres, the region enjoys a micro-climate with lush, luxuriant plants in summer, which even in winter keep most of their foliage thanks to a mild average temperature (about 13°) which is hardly different from that of Biarritz and Marseille in the deep South.
Lectoure (10 km) also has a good selection of shops and restaurants. Golf at Fleurance, 20 minutes drive.
Further restaurants and interesting villages to discover are in the immediate locale.

A Perfect Family Retreat – Exceeded Our Expectations!
We recently had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful villa and it truly exceeded our expectations. The photos on the website don’t fully capture the charm and spaciousness of this property. From the moment we arrived, we felt right at home.
La Ferme Éclaircie is brilliantly laid out, offering plenty of open space, which was perfect for our family of five. The kitchen is exceptionally well-equipped, making meal preparation a breeze. Each room was spotless, tidy and provided ample storage space for all our holiday belongings. The games room was a fantastic bonus, keeping our children entertained during the occasional rainy day.
One of the highlights of our stay was the incredible pool. Our three boys absolutely loved it and spent hours splashing around. The gentle slope of the pool was especially helpful for our youngest, who learned to swim during this holiday - an unforgettable milestone for our family.
We also enjoyed the outdoor seating area, which was ideal for both daytime relaxation and evening games as we watched the sun set. The peaceful surroundings and stunning views added to the tranquility of our stay.
La Ferme Éclaircie location is perfect for exploring the local area, which offers plenty of activities to keep a family like ours busy. Whether you’re looking for adventure or relaxation, this villa is a perfect choice.
Overall, our stay was wonderful and we wouldn’t hesitate to return. Highly recommended!
Eastwood family
We had a very good stay at La Ferme Éclaircie which met all our expectations.
We were very grateful for the initial supplies ( tea, coffee, wine , orange juice, loo paper etc ) which make a huge difference. The information pack - which was really useful. The maps. And the house was delightfully furnished and well supplied. We loved the area.

Another restful holiday in this little haven. Visited some lovely villages and ate wonderful food. The weather was kind - most days over 28° (and England had rain!) Warm memories to survive the British winter! Thank you again.

Many thanks for a great family holiday in a wonderful setting. La Ferme Éclaircie is great and proved perfect for our family. We especially enjoyed cooling off in the fantastic pool. The area and scenery are great also and we recommend the prune festival in Agen! We would love to come back.
