Customer Reviews [11]

Gail - September 2023
A beautiful cottage in a peaceful environment with incredible views and sunsets. The stars on a clear night are breathtaking.
John and Jo were excellent hosts and available if needed.
The kitchen has all the utensils you would ever need. A welcome pack of wine, bread, apple crumble and cream was waiting for us on our arrival.
The beds are very comfortable. I slept like a baby.
Even if the weather was beaten and missed, it didn't ruin our vacation at all because it was still mild (September) and John heated the pool for us to 28 degrees. We particularly enjoyed having our own private pool.
We didn't stay there with children, but it was so well suited for them that I could imagine that they would have the time of their lives.
There are some supermarkets 15 minutes away in Périgord for supplies.
Thank you Jo and John for allowing us to share your beautiful house.

Julie - July 2024
A warm welcome and accommodation beyond our expectations.
Everything was there and even more than we expected.
The games for the children, the pool, the space, the tranquillity, everything was perfect.
1 week seemed too fast to us.
Looking forward to coming back.

Catherine - July 2024
Excellent family stay where everyone had their own space (rooms, bathroom, toilet).
Welcome, environment, view and top services!
Cake and basket was waiting for us on our arrival.
Again a big thank you for your kindness, access to the garden and the chicken coop allowed for the joy of young and old...

Lynn - July 2024
We were very impressed with the whole configuration. John and Jo could not have done enough for us. They booked our veterinary appointment for our dog's return home and also reserved a table for us in a restaurant for our last evening. The barn is arranged for families and there is a lot to do for children. The kitchen was well equipped and we were greeted with a beautiful chocolate cake and fresh cream.

Martine - May 2024
Unforgettable family stay!
Top housing and environment for a large family
The pool made the whole family happy
Very welcoming hosts with little touches for everyone (jam, chocolate cake and wine).

Nicholas - September 2023
A bright and well-equipped spacious house in the heart of the beautiful countryside. Easy to shop in a very local small town (3 miles away) that was totally preserved and was obviously "French".
Very easy to walk directly from the door along quiet country alleys in the rolling countryside, then come back to relax in the exceptionally large garden and a wonderful pool. There were so many different parts of garden/indoor play equipment to make sure you would never miss something to do.
John and Jo were brilliant hosts and took extremely good care of us, making sure we had everything we needed. Their gifts of eggs, bread and apple crumble (and more) were received with gratitude and were a nice touch.
We strongly recommend that you stay there and enjoy the environment. We had a great stay.

Tanja - September 2023
We had a great stay at John and Jo's with 2 families. The house and garden were great and there was a lot to do for the kids. Next to that, the view was incredible. We highly recommend this place to families with children.

Yordi - July 2023
We really enjoyed our stay in the spacious family home with garden ditto. Especially the huge garden with swimming pool, bouncing pillow (!) And countless other children's toys were heaven for our children aged 3 and 5. The daily "trip" to the chicken coop to collect eggs was also a highlight for the children.
We particularly enjoyed the beautiful view (and were lucky with a beautiful field of flowers full of sun bordering the garden) and took advantage of the fun tips that John gave us on the local highlights (food and non-food).
The region where the house is located is a non-tourist part of the Dordogne (without any value judgement). The city of Brantome is idyllic and really worth a visit. A canoe trip on the Dronne was a very nice activity.
Overall, we had a wonderful week with John and Jo! To recommend.

Laura - June 2023
John and Jo's house is absolutely beautiful. The house is perfect for families, they have everything you can imagine for children of all ages. Our children enjoyed every minute, whether it was feeding the chickens, playing in the pool and on the bouncy castle. John and Jo were very helpful in knowing where to visit and eat and will be happy to book you in restaurants if you wish. We are already planning our next visit.

David - June 2023
This place has everything you need for an amazing family vacation.
John and Jo were very helpful, friendly and kind and made sure we had everything we needed and booked restaurants for us to make sure we got to the best places.
The house and the area are amazing and the pool and the huge garden allowed us to have an incredible time.
The children loved feeding the chickens and picking up the shiny, fresh eggs they laid when we were there.
We could not have asked for more and we highly recommend it as accommodation.

Louise - May 2023
Quiet location with stunning views. Jo and John couldn't have been more helpful and Jo is an amazing cook with a cake and wine to welcome us! Communications with John and Jos were very quick and helpful
Jo helped communicate with the veterinarian to organise the return of the dogs to the UK, the reservation of restaurants and advice on markets and places to visit.
The kitchen is well equipped because we ate most evenings.
Feeding the chickens and collecting the eggs was a lot of fun.
We didn't have good weather, but it didn't ruin our stay. We pedalled a lot in the area and went to visit the attractions for days.
From the plan of the property, I was unable to settle the situation of the bathroom between the first bedroom and the bunk bedroom. It's a jack and jill bathroom. We all found the beds very comfortable.
The pool is lovely and John maintains it very well and there are many things to do for big and small children at the property. We had been there for three weeks and we still didn't have time to do everything.
