Location

The property is located in the upmarket, wine-roducing town of Meursault in the heart of the Burgundy vineyards.

2 minute walk to 12 restaurants, 2 grocery stores, café bar, bakery, butcher and supermarket.

Meursault is a charming village in the heart of Burgundy's Côte de Beaune, France, known for its world-class Chardonnay wines and picturesque vineyards.

Great location for the following wine visits;

Gevrey-Chambertin - these wines are highly colourful and potent for Burgundies, with intense aromas and flavours evoking blackcurrant, cherry, musk and liquorice.

Nuits-Saint-Georges - one of the main towns of the Côte de Nuits wine-producing area of Burgundy.

Corton-Charlemagne is an Appellation d'origine contrôlée (AOC) and Grand Cru vineyard for white wine in the Côte de Beaune subregion of Burgundy. It is located in the communes of Aloxe-Corton, Pernand-Vergelesses and Ladoix-Serrigny with Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc being the only permitted grape varieties.

Local sights and Attractions:

Château de Meursault: This stunning estate and winery is an architectural gem, surrounded by lush vineyards. You can tour the cellars and taste some excellent wines. The château itself is a highlight with its beautiful gardens and historic significance.

Church of Saint-Nicolas: Located in the heart of the village, this Romanesque church dates back to the 15th century. Its Gothic architecture and peaceful atmosphere make it a lovely stop.

Meursault Town Hall (Hôtel de Ville): A beautiful, colorful tiled building that is famous for appearing in the film La Grande Vadrouille. The patterned roof is a great example of Burgundian architecture.

Vineyard Walks: Explore the vineyards surrounding Meursault on foot. There are many walking trails that take you through the scenic hills, offering great views and a peaceful way to enjoy the countryside.

Côte de Beaune Wine Route: Meursault is part of this famous wine route, where you can visit other nearby wine villages like Puligny-Montrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet and Volnay.

Events and Festivals;

Saint-Vincent Tournante (January): Each year, this festival celebrates the patron saint of winemakers. Different villages in Burgundy host the event and it includes grand wine tastings, parades and other festivities. If Meursault is the host, it's an extraordinary experience.

Les Grands Jours de Bourgogne (March, Biennial): A wine lover’s paradise, this is an international wine event that showcases the region’s top wines. Tastings are organized in various Burgundy villages, including Meursault.

Fête de la Vente des Vins des Hospices de Beaune (November): A famous wine auction and celebration in nearby Beaune, attracting wine enthusiasts from all over the world. It’s a great time to visit and explore both Meursault and Beaune.

In the area;

Beaune (10 km): The wine capital of Burgundy is a must-see, with the famous Hospices de Beaune, a 15th-century charity hospital with stunning architecture and history.

Pommard (5 km): Another charming wine village, Pommard is known for its robust red wines. Visit the Château de Pommard for a tour and tasting.

Nolay (15 km): A quaint village with medieval charm, Nolay features beautiful half-timbered houses and is surrounded by vineyards.

Dijon (50 km): A bit farther but worth it for a full day, Dijon is the capital of Burgundy and offers beautiful medieval streets, the Musée des Beaux-Arts and the Palace of the Dukes of Burgundy.
