Lovers of hiking, water, diving, discover the cove of the Mauresque in Port-Vendres.
It is located on the Vermeille coast. It is the Mediterranean coast which extends from Racou beach in Argeles-sur-Mer to Port Bou at the Spanish border.
Rocky creek, it keeps the wild and authentic side of an untransformed nature.
Far from the sandy beaches, it remains a discreet place for the pleasure of the greatest number.
Easily accessible from the village, this creek is sublime with its wildness and the water with emerald reflections. You can arrive by the paved streets of the village or cross the paths of scrubland.
The Côte Vermeille coastal path passes by the cove and takes you to Collioure, or even further.
Facing the sea, the remains of the fort designed in the 18th century by Vauban who had in mind to position a military port close to the Spanish border. The fort has been a historical monument since 1991.
On holiday in the south of France in the Pyrenees Orientales, this walk is a must. You can then enjoy Port-Vendres, its shops, bars and restaurants.
