Discovering the Camargue, our ideas for visits
Located between the Gard and the Bouches-du-Rhône, the Camargue is partly a regional natural park with a strong identity. A nature of exceptional beauty, and a wild environment that gives visitors a feeling of freedom.
Saintes-Maries-de-la-mer.
A very pleasant little village by the sea, with its cobbled streets, its white houses. It's a real change of scenery.

The Camargue is a corner of paradise for lovers of purebred Camargue horses and riding. You can enjoy unforgettable walks in the middle of nature between preserved fauna and flora, in order to discover the wonders of this natural reserve.
Parc ornithologique du Pont de Gap
Walk in the middle of the marshes and ponds which constitute a typical landscape of the region. You can see colonies of various birds, such as herons, teals, storks, flamingos. An ideal walk for families! Watch out for mosquitoes.
Salain-de-Guiraud, Camargue salt
In Carmargue, salt is harvested. On foot or by bike, you can explore the salty lands animated by the white gold mountains for which the region is famous. Take advantage of a sunset to have pretty pink hues and make the place totally magical.
At the heart of bullfighting traditions
At the edge of the Vaccarès pond, Méjanes estate and a concentrate of the Camargue. It is a huge property where Camargue bulls are raised, visitors will be able to enjoy shows and workshops allowing them to immerse themselves in bullfighting traditions: ferrade, marking of calves and cow shows. You can enjoy a lunch in the restaurant, Le Méjanes.
Observe wild birds
The Camargue is well known for its dozens of species that nest on the territory. An ideal place of refuge in a territory between fresh and salt water. You can observe them during your walks, mountain bike rides, or at the ornithological park of Pont de Gau. Without having to search, you will come across thousands of pink flamingos.
Go up the Petit Rhône by boat
Cabins on stilts suspended above the river, bulls and horses grazing. Go up the Petit Rhône by boat from the port of Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer to observe nature more closely.
Bike ride between sea and marsh
A paradise for horses, the Camargue will also delight mountain bike enthusiasts, with hikes that will allow you to discover this nature reserve in a different way.
