Brantôme Abbey
Take a trip to Brantôme and visit the Benedictine Abbey with its troglodyte caves.
Brantôme Abbey has a history dating back to the 8th century, it has been rebuilt and restored over the centuries with the latest incarnation being built at the end of the 19th century.
One of the most unusual features are the troglodyte caves behind the abbey, once inhabited by monks.
The village of Brantôme itself is picture perfect. As well as the abbey there is an old stone bridge spanning the Dronne, beautiful parks and gardens and traditional Périgord houses.
Two tours are offered to discover the abbey, to be done independently or one after another.
