16th century restored country home in Lot-et-Garonne

This half timbered house, dating from the 16th century, appears on the French Cassini map, the first general map of the Kingdom of France.

After the décimation of the population during the 100 years war between the French and English in the 16th century, migration from the West of France and the Haute Auvergne / Quercy was encouraged, bringing this unique style of house building to the Agen region.

A mysterious priest hole and a long since disappeared cellar...

Rumoured to be built on the site of an ancient priory, having a mysterious priest hole and a long since disappeared cellar, the current owners are attempting to discover more about Les Chapoux's history.

Long, languid, summer days can be enjoyed relaxing by the heated pool...

Sunset dinner views from the covered west terrace, overlooking the valley and the nut orchards are glorious. Long, languid, summer days can be enjoyed relaxing by the heated pool; children can enjoy the nursery and play facilities. The local Marmande wine is one of the regional specialities not to be missed along with the famous Agen prunes, as is the weekly night market/picnic in nearby Laparade.

The three double bedrooms, single room with two beds and nursery are tastefully decorated with quality furniture and antiques. A beautician and chef can be arranged should you so require.
