Saumur has a stunning château with wonderful views and you'll find all amenities in the town. Many shops and a huge choice of restaurants and café bars.
The Loire Valley is famous for it's many châteaux where kings and their courts built an impressive array of stately homes ranging from medieval times through every period and style to the second empire in the mid 19th century.
This area is also known for its wine: Chinon, Bourgeuil or the rich, sweet wine of Coteaux-du-layon or the sparklings of Saumur. Le Cadre Noir, the classical academic riding school is based in Saumur (8 miles away) and gives gala evenings from April to October.
