Location

The property is located in open countryside in the tiny hamlet next to Villeneuve-de-Duras. Villeneuve-de-Duras lies midway (approx 20 minutes) between Bergerac and Duras. Lovely bakery in Villeneuve (2 minutes) as well as a café bar restaurant

Adjacent to Le Vignoble is a farm which produces plums and grapes. The plums are dried to make prunes, which are an important ingredient in the gastronomic delights of this region. Although the English tend to think of the prune as something to be endured, the French adore their 'pruneaux', so why not sample them and taste the difference.

The farm's grapes are grown for the Côtes de Duras Appellation, which produces excellent white wines and fresh reds (which are just as delicious when chilled). The vines back immediately onto the back garden and stretch away as far as the eye can see.

All amenities in Duras and Bergerac including supermarkets, shops, café bar restaurants etc.

Ideal base for visits to the Dordogne valley with its world famous pre-historic cave paintings, caverns and pre-historic cliff dwellings as well as the romantic medieval Châteaux of the Dordogne and the ' Bastide' towns (fortified market towns) which remain largely as they were 600 years ago.

World renowned wine tasting is available locally in the Duras, Sauterne, Marmande, Bergerac and Monbazillac areas as well as in Graves, Médoc and the picturesque medieval town of Sainte-Emillion.

There are regular markets in the local picturesque towns of Duras (Monday), Sainte-Foy-la-Grande (Saturday)and Eymet (Thursday), along with many others in the area. On the first Sunday of each month, the old town of Bergerac transformed into a large antique market.

Bordeaux, with its opera house, art galleries, museums, shops and the lovely broad sandy beaches of the Atlantic coast are little more than an hour away. Moreover, Biarritz, located further South on the Atlantic coast, is still within striking distance of a day-trip.
