« A very enjoyable stay. » Mathias family
« This was our 4th visit. Our first was in 2002 and the house has improved each time. The owners really work to keep it up.
We love Les Oliviers for a laid back vacation in an area which isn't packed with tourists. The Languedoc area can keep you busy for weeks, wine tasting, exploring all the little villages, rides on the Midi Canal, caves to explore, nice beach nearby and on and on.
There are many great restaurants in the area, fine dining to the pizza truck that comes into the village on Friday nights.
The house itself is beautiful, can accommodate 8 easily. The house is filled with art, family heirlooms, books, Dvd's. The yard and pool area is well kept, a wonderful hammock for a afternoon nap and bicycles to take a ride on into the countryside. The kitchen is well stocked with anything you would need to prepare meals, this includes all the herbs and spices you would want to use. There is also includes a great BBQ grill at your disposal.
The beds are comfortable, nice linens. »
« It certainly measured up to all my expectations, weaving that particular brand of magic that is to be found in the villages of Southern France.
Situated on the outskirts of the village of Cesseras, in the Minervois, it is a delightful, spacious, welcoming stone house with extensive views as far as the eye can see - to the Pyrenees.
The owners have sympathetically and cleverly ensured that the comfortable, modern amenities accentuate rather than detract from the enormous charm of the property.
It is a wonderful place to unwind, musing by the pool or in the hammock under the olive trees, book in one hand - glass of delicious local wine in the other.
My daughter and I loved our holiday in this very special place and would like to thank the owners for being prepared to share their beautiful house. » G Irwin, London
« I must say that the week was one of the happiest, most enjoyable and definitely the most memorable of my life.
We could not have chosen a more perfect and harmonious spot for our vacation.
The Villa itself, was roomy, airy and exquisitely decorated. Each wall in the house was interesting with it’s own unique story to tell. The great patio overlooked lovely gardens, an inviting pool, vineyards with abundant views. It was perfect for an afternoon cocktail or a nightcap after a lovely dinner at one of the town’s fine restaurants. » Mr & Mrs Cooper, New York
« Looking out on to the vineyards was such a vivid visual experience.
Not to mention the fact that we could enjoy our own meals with the help of the fully equipped kitchen and the BBQ.
We felt like we were a local after only a few days. Biking to the village and waking in the local market in Olonzac, restaurant and cafe was so warm and welcoming. We were delighted to be able to ride bikes and just relax under the olive trees on the hammock.
We all slept like babies every night and I think those luxurious linens had a lot to do with that.
You have obviously spent a lot of time into decorating the house as the furnishings & decor are simply exquisite.
Thank you so much for making our stay so memorable. We look forward to returning and in the meantime we'll highly recommend the company to our family and friends. » D Hendy, New York
« The owners provide visitors with those 'little extra touches' that makes one feel welcome and valued. This charming old property has been sympathetically restored to a high standard, tastefully combining much of it's rustic charm and period features, with the delights of modern technology. This, along with the delights of exploring the small, picturesque ancient village of Cesseras with it's winding 'up/down' narrow lanes, wonderful old historic buildings, and fabulous views overlooking olive groves, vineyards and undulating countryside, makes for a truly enjoyable experience. Conveniently there is a cafe/restaurant, grocery and post office close to hand, or a short car ride can lead to any number of fascinating villages and small towns, each with its own uniqueness. I remember my visit with much fondness, and will I am sure, for years to come. » Legget Family
« The house has a homely atmosphere and one feels almost privileged to be part of all the history involved. We loved every detail in and outside the house.
We had memorable moments at some of the markets and took full advantage of all the lovely fresh produce available (what a pleasure to cook in a “rented” kitchen with good and sharp utensils!). To have fresh figs available from garden every morning was an absolute treat. We will definitely recommend Maison Platane to people who can appreciate it the same way we did. » Karin, South Africa
