The villa is located 1½ km from the village of Peymeinade, 25 minutes from Cannes and a few kilometres from Grasse - the perfume capital of the world!
Peymeinade village, 15 minutes walk with restaurants and bars, butchers, fish shop, newsagent, hardware store, chemist, bread shops, post office and banks. For day to day shopping there is 'Intermarché' supermarket about 1 km (1½ km) away.
It is a 25 minutes drive to Cannes, 40 minutes to Nice airport and about 1½ hours to Monte Carlo, Gorges du Verdon and Saint-Tropez. The nearest beaches are at Cannes, La Napoule or Théoule-sur-Mer, all of which are just over half an hour away. Even in peak summer the roads are not too busy (and a convenient ferry service from Saint-Raphaël is the relaxing way to avoid the bottlenecks associated with Saint-Tropez in summer!).
The surrounding area boasts some of the finest scenery Provence has to offer. The countryside is predominantly wooded hillsides dotted with picturesque, perched villages and interspersed with luxuriant valleys and deep gorges sparkling with fast flowing rivers and crystalline rock pools. The clear waters of nearby Lac de Saint-Cassien are excellent for swimming.
There is also some of the best carp fishing in the world and a range of water sports, including windsurfing, sailing, rowing and pedalos. Alternatively, you can take a trip into the Tanneron hills and enjoy marvellous views over the lake and the Esterel National Park, an area of outstanding natural beauty with its pine clad sandstone hills eroded over the years to create spectacular peaks and wild jagged rock formations rising up from the azure blue Mediterranean.
There are numerous interesting nearby villages. Cabris, perched on a cliff edge high above Grasse; Mougins, the gastronomic centre of the Côte d'Azur, Saint-Paul-de-Vence and Tourrettes-sur-Loup, picture book pretty and with a wide choice of artists' studios for the discerning; Gourdon and Saint-Cezaire, perching on the edge of their respective gorges with superb views over the mountains and the coast from Nice to Saint-Tropez;
Montauroux, unspoilt and very typical of the area; Callian, ancient and very pretty; Fayence, with its lovely viewpoint and world famous gliding club; and, finally, Seillans, nestled in the hills and voted amongst the most attractive villages in France ('L'un des plus beaux villages de la France').
« The villa was spotless, the kitchen was well equipped, the beds comfortable and the whole place was light and airy. The DVD player and the large supply of films was great for late viewing. The pool area and garden were a delight. We had a lovely relaxing time. We will certainly return. » V. Friend
« We have stayed now on five occasions and will return again. Accommodation has everything you could wish for in self-catering accommodation and the pool is superb. Lovely little villages to visit nearby as well as Nice, Cannes, Saint-Tropez and Monaco all within easy reach. Carole and Jean Luc are always on hand to help with any queries but don't intrude. Easy drive from Nice Airport to a very peaceful location. » Kay & Jim
« This villa was in a lovely position being very private with glimpses of surrounds. The accommodation was exceptionally clean, and well furnished with everything you could need and more (much better than some previous villas we have rented!). The pool was a good size, gorgeous, nice to swim after sightseeing. I would thoroughly recommend this villa to either a couple or a family. » David & Hazel
« We had an amazing two weeks in the sun, we spent some days by the pool. You can swim and look at the stunning view of the hills in the distance. The apartment is spotless, and has everything we needed at the start of our holiday. The owners Jean-luc and Carole can speak English which is helpful if you needed anything which we didn't. We would love to go back again. » Amelie, Alice & Joseph
« We thoroughly enjoyed our week. The accommodation was first class, very well appointed, bright and spacious with comfortable beds. The pool was attractive and inviting. There were plenty of areas around it to sit, lounge and relax, surrounded by beautiful blossom. There was plenty to do in the area from perched villages to golden beaches. The owners, Carole and Jean-luc were friendly and helpful, yet unobtrusive. We would certainly recommend a stay. » Catherine & Malcolm
« At the end of a long and busy vacation in France, the property was a beautiful place to relax. The grounds and pool are perfect, the owners Jean Luc and Carole were friendly and helpful. Very clean, well appointed, comfortable. Close enough to go where we wanted along the Côte d'Azur, but peaceful when we wanted to relax. One week was not enough. Will definitely return here if we travel to France again. » Kevin, Allison & Sarah
