Vineyards created by monks 600 years ago is home to the world famous Romance-Conti wine, grown from Pinot Noir grapes located near the French village of Vosne-Romanée, North of Beaune and South of Dijon.
The world famous Romance-Conti wine is grown from Pinot Noir grapes in a tiny vineyard the size of one and a half football pitches, which produces a surprisingly small 6,000 bottles a year.
On the 12th June 2016, more than 1,400 bottles of wine from the Romanée Conti Domain will go under-the-hammer to the highest bidder. The entire collection is worth more than 2.7 million Pounds. 12 bottles of rare 1988 vintage Romance-Conti has an estimate of 140,000 Pounds.
That works out at just 2,133 Pounds per glass!
